Why Is My Vape Leaking?

  • Filling too fast or too full

Some newcomers are in a hurry to refill the cartridge, adding too much oil too quickly, making the cartridge too saturated, or some of the oil is not absorbed by the cartridge and enters the base. Besides, overfilling will also lead to oil leakage.

Solution: Try to fill the oil sparingly! Normally the maximum should not exceed 2/3 of the oil reservoir. This is determined by the structure and working principle of the atomizer. The oil from the reservoir penetrates through the small holes in the atomizer to the atomizer core. The atomizer core is energized to heat the penetrated oil, and the oil is heated to turn into smoke coming out of the mouthpiece. If you fill it too full, the air pressure inside the atomizer compartment is low, and more smoke oil penetrates the atomizer core under gravity, so it will easily flow out from the mouthpiece or be sucked into the mouth.

  • Lost or broken atomizer seals

The sealing ring is the most likely thing to be lost or broken during an atomizer. Oil leakage will also occur if the seal between the atomizer core and the base is lost or broken.

Solution: When unscrewing the atomizer to refill it, be gentle and try not to touch the seal. If the seal comes off accidentally, carefully install it back on after adding the oil and tighten it again. If it is lost or broken, replace the atomizer with a new one.

  • Incorrect or faulty coils

Coils are designed for different vaping styles and have different wattages and resistance levels. Choosing the wrong coil for your vaping style can result in less e-liquid passing through the coil. Instead of turning into vapor, this excess e-liquid may leak through the inlet or, worse, be sucked from the drip tip into your mouth as you vape.

Solution: Check your coil rating for the way you vape. For MTL vaping, you need a coil with low wattage and low resistance. For DTL vaping, a coil with a high wattage and high resistance is recommended.

  • Long-term storage

Leaving the oil in the atomizer for a long time without using it up can also cause oil leakage. This is because most finished atomizers are negative-pressure atomizer structures. Long periods due to the internal pressure of the atomizer have always existed and will continue to guide oil, atomizer oil accumulation will be too much into the base will cause oil leakage.

Solution: Try to add as much oil as possible according to your own usage; make sure that the oil you add on the same day can be smoked on the same day. If you need to leave it for a long time, unscrew the atomizer and shake out the oil inside.
